Summary

Seahorse Swim School is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Swim School Coordinator Apprentice. This role combines a Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship with hands-on experience in the daily operations of a successful swim school.

Wage

£13,000 a year

The wage is £10 an hour for the term time role plus the two weeks of the extra courses, as well as paid holiday , which is above the Goverment set wage for Apprentices of £8 per hour

What you'll do at work

  • Position: Assistant Swim School Coordinator (Customer Service Apprentice - Level 2)
  • Reporting to: Swim School Directors
  • Location: Multi-venue role across Seahorse Swim School locations
  • Apprenticeship: Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Frontline Support:

  • Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email in a professional and friendly manner
  • Supporting families with class information, availability, and general queries
  • Maintaining accurate customer records
  • Assisting with membership administration and direct debit processes
  • Ensuring customer communication is clear, timely, and aligned with Seahorse Swim School values

Administrative & Business Support:

  • Supporting day-to-day office administration
  • Assisting with registers, data input, and swimmer progress tracking
  • Supporting venue coordination and lesson scheduling
  • Assisting with the preparation of reports and internal documentation
  • Helping maintain efficient systems across admin, teacher, and parent communication portals

Swim Teaching Development:

  • Working towards a recognised swim teaching qualification (fully funded and supported)
  • Assisting qualified teachers during lessons where appropriate
  • Gradually developing the skills and confidence to lead lessons independently
  • Supporting poolside operations when required

Training & Development:

  • Enrolment onto a Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship
  • Supported training pathway to become a qualified swim teacher
  • Ongoing mentorship from the Swim School Directors
  • Real business experience within a growing multi-venue swim school

What you'll learn

Course contents

  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

Training schedule

The apprentice will be fully taught in the workplace via a mentor and Cambridge Regional College tutor. 

More training information

  • We will also be including education for them with a Swim England Qualification Level 2 Swim Teacher
  • RLSS NPLQ (Gen10) or RLSS NRASTC

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 3 or D)
  • Maths (grade 3 or D)

This role will suit someone who enjoys swimming and working with children. A considerable part of the role involves assisting and eventually taking swimming lessons.
