Summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Field Service Engineer to join our team in the niche industry of compressed air! Maintaining the safety, integrity and effective operation of plant & equipment in industries that are part of the national infrastructure engineering sector. 

Wage

£15,311.40 to £24,761.88, depending on your age

National Minimum Wage

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • You will be working towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification, initially on block release then moving on to day release
  • You will be mentored by experienced Field Service Engineers, installing, servicing, and repairing a wide variety of compressed air, vacuum and nitrogen equipment throughout the south of the UK
  • You will develop an understanding of engineering; electrical and mechanical
  • You will develop specialist skills relevant to compressed air, vacuum and nitrogen equipment
  • You will develop an understanding of office operations (quoting, stock, invoicing etc).

Training schedule

  • Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you will hold a Level 3 Apprenticeship Qualification (Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician, Level 3 (A level)
  • During your 1st year, you will attend SETA's Apprenticeship Centre in Southampton on a block release
  • Following the above, you will then attend SETA one day a week until completion of the qualification
  • When you are not at SETA, you will be working throughout the South of the UK with an assigned mentor (Field Service Engineer)

After this apprenticeship

Upon successful completion, you will progress to the role of Field Service Engineer. You will be issued with a company vehicle and travel throughout the South of the UK, installing, servicing, and repairing compressed air, vacuum and nitrogen equipment.
