Our Apprenticeship programme provides an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career in construction, offering experience on live projects and mentoring while you work towards your Level 4 Apprenticeship. You’ll support project planning and site operations to help deliver projects on time and to a high standard.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and execution on site
- Support day-to-day site operations, including inductions, supervision, and logistics
- Maintain accurate site records such as daily diaries, permits, inductions, and progress reports
- Help manage and update risk assessments, method statements, and site rules
- Assist with the collation of O&M Manuals and Health & Safety Files
- Use document control platforms such as SharePoint and Procore to manage project data
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contractor documentation
- Support quality assurance, snagging, and monitoring compliance with safety and environmental standards
- Liaise with subcontractors, clients, and project teams to ensure clear communication and site coordination
- Participate in meetings and toolbox talks, and contributing to health, safety, and environmental initiatives (e.g., CCS and BREEAM)

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
- Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
- Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
- Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
- Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
- Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
- Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.
Training schedule
Construction Site Supervisor Level 4.
Of the 40-hour working week, one day (8-hours) is dedicated to study or training sessions, with the remaining 32-hours spent working on-site or in the workplace. If study sessions aren’t scheduled in a particular week, apprentices are still expected to complete their normal working hours.
The training is provided by UBE (formerly UCEM), who deliver sessions online. Therefore, most of the study will take place remotely, allowing for flexible learning without the need for travel to a physical college location.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- GCSE English (or an equivalent qualification) (grade Grade 4 (or C) or above)
- Mathematics (or an equivalent qualification) (grade Grade 4 (or C) or above)
Other in:
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements
- Apprentices must have the right to work in England and meet the Department for Education (DfE) residency status requirements
- Spend at least 50% of their working hours in England
- Be 18 years or over at the start of the programme and be directly employed in a job role that will enable the requirements of the apprenticeship to be achieved (due to insurance purposes)
- Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence or be working towards one, and must ensure they can travel to project locations until their licence is obtained
