Summary

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Engineering Operative Apprentice to join our manufacturing team producing high-quality LED lighting products. This is a great opportunity to gain practical engineering skills, industry experience, and a recognized qualification in a modern manufacturing environment.

 

 

Wage

£17,000 a year

Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm with 15 min break in morning, 30 min break at lunch, and 15 min break in the afternoon.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

You will work alongside experienced colleagues to support the assembly, testing, and packaging of LED products while developing skills in manufacturing processes, quality control, and health & safety.

  • Assist in the assembly and manufacture of LED lighting products and components
  • Operate basic production machinery and hand tools under supervision
  • Carry out visual inspections and basic quality checks to ensure products meet required standards
  • Support electrical and mechanical assembly tasks as part of the production process
  • Follow work instructions, technical drawings, and production schedules accurately
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Learn and comply with health & safety procedures and company policies
  • Assist with packaging, labelling, and preparation of products for dispatch
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets
  • Attend all apprenticeship training sessions and complete coursework and assessments

Develop into a high-level Production Operative or Team Leader, goods in and stock management. Move into a different department or location to use CNC and other machinery, design & development and sales.
