You’ll help keep Aviva safe by spotting risks early and ensuring rules are followed. You’ll rotate across three key teams – Compliance Advice & Guidance, Compliance Monitoring and Group Operational Risk – giving you a unique view of how we protect customers and manage regulatory and operational risks.

Work

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Implement legal and regulatory framework requirements.
- Deliver risk and compliance services to stakeholders using organisational systems and processes.
- Plan and organise workloads to meet individual and team performance targets.
- Identify ways to reduce and mitigate incidents of non-compliance.
- Escalate compliance and risk issues where appropriate in line with organisational procedures.
- Manage records in order to meet audit requirements of the organisation.
- Produce evidence-based reports and management information for stakeholders considering visualisation techniques when presenting data.
- Select and use communication methods applicable to the audience and circumstances, for example, presentations, phone, face to face, email, virtual meetings.
- Communicate about products with customers, colleagues or stakeholders in different styles, for example visually, verbally, written, using e-comms.
- Build and maintain working relationships.
- Identify own training needs and seek feedback to improve performance and service delivered.
- Apply continuous improvement techniques when delivering improved compliance outcomes and mitigating risks.
- Record information electronically and make use of available technology, for example Management Information Systems (MIS), spreadsheets, presentation software, word processing, email, virtual communication.
- Handle data safely and securely and share information in compliance with data protection legislation and organisational policy.

Training schedule
During your first 18–22 months (depending on your studies), you’ll spend around 80% of your time gaining hands-on experience and 20% studying for your apprenticeship qualifications.
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade C)
- Maths (grade C)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements
What we’re looking for: You to have at least five GCSEs or Scottish National 5s at grades A*-C or 9-4 (or their equivalent), including English and maths.
A strong analytical mind and someone who enjoys problem-solving and communicating with others.
Someone with genuine customer focus, with the ability to perceive opportunities to improve processes.
A strong ability to build and develop relationships, as well as happy listening, are challenging things.
To be eligible for an apprenticeship, you'll also need to:Have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for at least 3 years by the start of the apprenticeship in September 2026.
Be eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship and beyond.
Be able to spend at least 50% of your working time physically in England to be eligible for an apprenticeship.
Example: If you live in Wales but apply for a role based in England, you will need to work a minimum of 50% of your working week in England.
Be available for full-time work from September 2026, when all our apprentice roles start.
