Summary

We are looking for 3 Apprentices to join our team as Apprentice Welders. We will provide you with all the support you need to progress through the business.

Wage

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Welding Stainless Steel and Mild Steel to EN1090 coded welding qualifications/specifications
  • Read manufacturing drawings and weld according to the plan
  • Ensure Housekeeping is of a high standard
  • Inspection of welds to ensure conformity to EN1090 and Drawing
  • Planning welding operations before beginning
  • Using in house job tracking software to digitally sign your work off
  • Ensuring the work completed is of a high quality and every item has been inspected
  • The use of Grinding, Cutting and Linishing equipment
  • Manufacturing using Jigs and Fixtures
  • Helping apprentices with their technique and understanding of welding/fabrication
  • Ensuring welding equipment is set correctly, looking at gas ratio, drive rolls, wire spool hub welding wire and program number for butt/fillet and thickness of steel
  • Reporting conflicting information on drawings/components not to specification
  • Ensure equipment used is in calibration
  • Ensure manufacturing tolerances are adhered to
  • Maintain equipment in a condition which does not compromise safety

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)
