Summary

Beauty Spot Warehouse in Bacup are recruiting for an Apprentice Warehouse Assistant. The successful candidate will complete a Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship over the duration of 15 Months.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Day-to-day assistance within our busy warehouse.
  • Develop skills in stock control, order fulfilment, health and safety and teamwork.
  • Receive, check, unpack and store incoming deliveries.
  • Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately and within deadlines.
  • Label and dispatch orders ready for collection by our courier / postal service.
  • Maintain stock levels and assist with stock counts.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organised and safe.
  • Use all warehouse equipment safely (full training will be provided).
  • Work as part of a team to meet daily targets and deadlines.
  • Report any issues to the Warehouse Manager. For confidential issues or anything high level you can refer to the Area Manager.
  • Follow all Company policies, Health and Safety regulations and industry regulations at all times.
  • Maintain an awareness of all services and products offered by the Company.

  • Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
  • Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities.
