Summary

We are looking for a reliable and organised HR Executive to support our growing office team. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills and a background in HR. You will play a key role in supporting recruitment, employee records, and day-to-day HR administration using BrightHR.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Supporting the recruitment process (posting job ads, arranging interviews, onboarding new starters).
  • Maintaining and updating employee records on BrightHR.
  • Assisting with contracts, policies, and HR documentation.
  • Monitoring holidays, sickness, and absence records.
  • Supporting compliance with HR policies and employment procedures.
  • Handling general office administration tasks (filing, emails, data entry).
  • Acting as a point of contact for basic HR and admin queries.
  • Supporting management with ad-hoc admin and HR duties.
  • Support in preparing people strategy documents and annual people plans.
  • Analyse HR data and produce insights for management review.
  • Provide guidance to managers on HR policies and legal compliance.
  • Contribute to policy review and design to ensure best practice and legislative alignment.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on workforce initiatives.
  • Assist with succession planning activities and employee engagement work.

  • Handle and process people data according to legislative requirements.
  • Embed organisational people policy to promote a diverse and inclusive culture with stakeholders.
  • Analyse financial implications of people solutions ensuring value for money.
  • Support the delivery of people strategies using technology and innovation in accordance with regulations and policies.
  • Make decisions on people policy and issues raised, escalating concerns outside own area of responsibility.
  • Use prioritisation tools e.g., priority matrix to manage workload, and deliver against business objectives.
  • Challenge matters which conflict with ethical values or legislation.
  • Contribute to the development of people policies and procedures or people initiatives.
  • Interpret people and management data, from both internal and external sources to identify trends.

Requirements

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4-9 / A*-C)
  • Maths (grade 4-9 / A*-C)

Other in:

Human Resources (grade Pass Equivalent)
