Summary

Over the course of the Apprenticeship, you will become fully AAT qualified.  During this time you will be exposed to various teams across the business : Accounts Payable, Subcontractor Sales, Purchases Payroll Record to Report (including Fixed Assets)

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Over the course of taking on the Finance Apprenticeship role, you will become fully AAT qualified
  • The duration of the apprenticeship will be 3 years. During this time you will be exposed to various teams across the Finance Shared Service Centre: Project Support Master Data Accounts Payable Subcontractor Sales and Purchases Payroll Record to Report (including Fixed Assets)

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
  • Record transactional data.

Training schedule

  • Delivery is within a college setting at the town centre campus in St Helens
  • One day per week attendance is required (term time only) remaining weeks will be with the employer
  • Functional skills maths and English within college setting (if applicable)

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

Maths and English (grade A*- D / 3-9 (or equivalent))

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

You will need a full UK driving licence due to the locations of projects  .To provide you with the best development opportunities we may ask you to work away from your home location within the UK during your 2-year programme .Eligible to work in the UK with a valid work permit if applicable.  Please note, we do not provide sponsorship.
