Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Work closely with your mentor to learn all aspects of fabrication, MAG welding and associated activities for manufacturing structural steel sections
- Produce accurate finished work from engineering drawings, working to welding execution classes 2-4
- Learn to operate various work equipment safely, and how to carry out safety checks
- Fabricate items that will form part of structures all across the UK and the world

You will attend college on a day release basis to complete your Fabrication and Welding Apprenticeship (Lean Manufacturing Operative- Welding Pathway) and will be mentored by another member of the team to help you achieve this.
Functional Skills in English and maths if required.

Desirable qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4)
- Mathematics (grade 4)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
