Summary

An excellent opportunity to join our team, utilising the skills learned at college and on the job training to follow fabrication drawings and weld steel members that go on to form part of large steel structures. Your mentor will support you along the way to reach your potential.

Wage

£16,120 a year

This is the starting rate. You'll have regular reviews in accordance with our progression band structure. Annual discretionary bonus.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Work closely with your mentor to learn all aspects of fabrication, MAG welding and associated activities for manufacturing structural steel sections
  • Produce accurate finished work from engineering drawings, working to welding execution classes 2-4
  • Learn to operate various work equipment safely, and how to carry out safety checks
  • Fabricate items that will form part of structures all across the UK and the world

Based at our premises in Christchurch, Dorset.

You will attend college on a day release basis to complete your Fabrication and Welding Apprenticeship (Lean Manufacturing Operative- Welding Pathway) and will be mentored by another member of the team to help you achieve this.

Functional Skills in English and maths if required.

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Mathematics (grade 4)
