Summary

You’ll complete the Level 4 Business Analyst apprenticeship. As a Business Analyst, your job is to understand how a business works, find ways to improve it and help the business use technology to make things work better.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team with lots of experience and knowledge, working closely with people across the business to understand how things work and how to make them better. Our team uses data, technology and collaboration to deliver improvements, giving you the chance to build strong skills across a variety of projects.

You’ll:

  • Collaborate across the business to understand how their current processes work and what challenges they face, gathering information to support improvements
  • Help map and understand how tasks are currently done, identifying opportunities to simplify or improve to make it work better
  • Support the team by documenting what the business needs from new processes or systems, turning discussions and findings into clear, easy to understand documents
  • Assist with collecting and reviewing data to help the team understand patterns, issues or opportunities
  • Take part in project activities such as meetings and workshops, helping to keep tasks organised and moving forward

  • Produce an outline definition of a business situation using an appropriate technique

  • Support the identification and presentation of proposed actions to stakeholders in order to gain agreement for further analysis activity
  • Apply appropriate techniques to analyse and document options and recommendations for change
  • Elicit process information from stakeholders
  • Model business processes using relevant techniques, standards, notation and software tools
  • Analyse business process models to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Produce models of redesigned business processes

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

Maths, English plus 3 others (grade 4 or above (5 GCSEs))

A Level in:

Any (grade C or above (3 A levels))

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Velonetic is a virtual first organisation and you will therefore spend most of your week working from home. However, you will be in the office on weekly basis and therefore must be able to commute to our London office.
