What you'll do at work
Underwriting is all about making confident, informed decisions. As an underwriter you’ll assess risks based on the type of cover we’re giving, the likelihood of something bad happening, the value of what’s being insured, and the customer’s history of making claims. You’ll build relationships with brokers, negotiate terms and decide whether we should offer cover. It’s a mix of analysis, curiosity and great people skills.
You’ll help shape how we approach risk: from individual policies to global corporations. You’ll learn how to assess risk, make informed decisions and negotiate solutions that protect our customers. Working with brokers and teams across the business, you’ll secure new business and tailor solutions for existing customers. Expect variety: one day analysing data, the next building relationships or supporting trading decisions.
