Summary

Joinn our team as an Apprentice Design Engineer at a commercial kitchen and ventilation steel fabrication company. You'll design bespoke catering equipment using CAD software, produce technical drawings for our fabricators, and support the manufacturing process from concept to completion.

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

What you'll do at work

The key aspect of the Technical Support Technician role is to ensure products are produced to the required specification and/or systems remain operational within their designated field.

Responsibilities:

  • Design custom commercial kitchen and ventilation products using 2D/3D CAD software
  • Create technical drawings from 3D models to guide the manufacturing process
  • Communicate with customers professionally to understand project requirements
  • Solve production issues as they arise
  • Develop your engineering skills through hands-on training and apprenticeship study

  • Comply with engineering standards and regulations. For example, British Standards (BS), International Organisation for Standardisation standards (ISO). European Norm (EN).
  • Analyse engineering and manufacturing data and information to support technical outputs. For example, read and interpret text, data, engineering drawings, work instructions, method statements, operation manuals.
  • Apply scientific, technical or engineering principles.
  • Apply problem solving techniques to solutions for identified technical problems.
  • Organise, plan and prioritise workflow and scheduling of work with stakeholders.
  • Identify, organise and use resources to complete tasks, considering cost, quality, safety, security and environmental impact.
  • Produce job specific technical outputs. For example, engineering drawings, quality control management, computer control programming, business improvement, adverse incident reports, technical investigations, equipment appraisals and specifications.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4/C or above)
  • Maths (grade 4/C or above)
