Summary

J&C Installations Limited are looking for a motivated and reliable Installation Apprentice to join our team. This role offers hands-on experience learning how to install kitchens, bathrooms, and fitted bedroom furniture in domestic properties. 

Wage

£13,741 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Assisting with the installation of kitchens, bathrooms, and fitted bedroom furniture.
  • Supporting senior installers with measuring, fitting, and assembling units.
  • Handling and preparing materials, tools, and equipment safely 
    Safeguarding all tools at all times and ensuring they are used correctly and responsibly.
  • Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and safe during and after installations.
  • Helping with deliveries, loading, and unloading materials.
  • Following health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Treating customers, colleagues, and properties with respect.

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Carry out location, product, material and dimensional checks prior to installation.
  • Inspect the fabric of the building for suitability of weight of installation.
  • Interpret information from drawings, specifications and functional designs.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations, standards, and guidance.
  • Use and store hand and power tools.
  • Select and use personal protective equipment.
  • Remove and dispose of pre-existing products.
  • Assemble and install fitted furniture components in sequence.
  • Install boxing, boarding and frameworks, adjusting to ensure best possible fit.
  • Install and dry-fit ancillary products, for example, hinges, handles, appliances, media equipment or bathroom suite fixtures.
  • Identify and report faults, snags and issues.
  • Carry out rectification work following a root cause analysis, within limits of competence.
  • Maintain a safe working area and return to a safe condition.
  • Carry out a customer handover, including providing product guidance.
  • Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
  • Works collaboratively with clients or stakeholders to solve problems
  • Comply with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Applies team working principles.
  • Complete documentation.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Math (grade 4)

About this employer

J&C Installations Limited is looking for a motivated and reliable Installation Apprentice to join our team. This role offers hands-on experience learning how to install kitchens, bathrooms, and fitted bedroom furniture in domestic properties. You will work alongside experienced installers, gaining practical skills while developing a strong work ethic and understanding of the trade. 
This is a physical, practical role suited to someone who enjoys working with their hands, learning on the job, and being part of a close-knit team. 

After this apprenticeship

  • On completion, apprentices will be able to
    work as qualified fitted interiors installers
    across the construction and interiors industry.

    specialist installation companies, large
    retailers, or self-employment. It also provides a
    platform for progression to supervisory or
    management roles.
