Summary

This exciting role will support the delivery of our marketing and branding activities by creating engaging digital and print media. The apprentice will contribute to a wide range of creative projects - from social media content and product brochures to event materials and advertising campaigns. 

Wage

£13,741 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

The apprentice will be involved throughout the full design process, helping to develop visuals that strengthen our brand presence across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce engaging content for both digital and print platforms
  • Support the growth of the brand’s online presence through impactful, on-brand visual content
  • Assist the Marketing Coordinator with content creation across multiple SurfacePrep UK branches
  • Provide administrative support for marketing activities and departmental processes
  • Schedule and manage content using platforms such as Later and HubSpot
  • Work closely with the Sales team and external SEO partners to develop lead-generating marketing materials
  • Capture and edit photography for use across various marketing channels
  • Use design tools including Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to develop creative assets
  • Coordinate the ordering of promotional items, printed materials, and other marketing resources

  • Develop accessible written content for different platforms and devices.
  • Apply best practice and inclusive language when creating content.
  • Write and edit copy or scripts for use on different channels and platforms.
  • Create or capture visuals and audio using standard packages and equipment.
  • Source, obtain and prepare media assets for use; using industry standard packages to adapt and edit content.
  • Use industry standard tools and content management systems to organise, structure and label content effectively, methodically and securely enabling efficient search and retrieval.
  • Identify and recommend the platform/s or channel/s to use for the media campaign.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers, establishing and using professional contacts.
  • Engage and respond with audiences through social media, adapting content to respond to evolving circumstances.
  • Monitor user experience to ensure content is focused on maximising engagement.
  • Analyse the differences between audiences using audience segmentation techniques and data.
  • Use lessons learned to evaluate the success of the content and identify areas for improvement for future campaigns.
  • Use continuing professional development planning to support own current and future training and development needs.
  • Operate effectively within the production workflow to meet production timelines.

Training schedule

  • An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience, and industry specific competence
  • You will be expected to work towards the Content Creator Level 3 qualification, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group
  • As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment and age, you may be required to complete English and maths Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship
  • Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4/C or above)
  • Maths (grade 4/C or above)
