Summary
Patteson's Glass, based on Hewitt's Business Park in Humberstone near Grimsby, are searching for a new apprentice to assist with invoicing, accounts processing and other associated duties. You will undertake a combination of on-site training and personal development, including AAT accounting qualifications.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As their new Accounts Apprentice, you will be trained and supported to complete the following duties within their accounting and finance department:
- Collate and process accounting data
- Process receipts and invoices
- Processing daily transactions
- Support with purchase ledger
- General office duties
- Ability to use all in-house IT, including Microsoft Excel and Sage accounting software
- All other associated duties as required

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
- Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
- Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
- Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
- Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
- Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
- Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
- Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
- Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.

Training schedule
Our accountancy apprenticeships run on a day-release model. You will attend day-release college training at The Grimsby Institute for one day each week (within term-time). We offer a free college bus service in and around North and North East Lincolnshire.
More training information
As part of the apprenticeship, you will complete an AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting, build an extensive portfolio of your practical work and take part in a bespoke programme of technical, practical and vocational learning.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4/C or above)
- Maths (grade 4/C or above)

Patteson’s Glass is located on Blossom Avenue on Hewitt’s Business Park in Humberston. Please check the location and ensure you would be able to travel to work on a daily basis.
You will attend college day-release sessions based at The Grimsby Institute, once each week. There is a free college bus services that covers our local area.
