Summary
Studying towards a Level 3 Engineering Technician qualification, students will gain experience and understanding of electro-mechanical principals through work experience and theoretical knowledge. The apprentice will be carrying out a range of engineering operations. Jobs are offered to all of those who successfully complete this qualification.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
The engineering technician apprenticeship covers a range of topics, including:
- Engineering principles
- Technical mathematics
- Computer-aided design (CAD)
- Mechanical and electrical engineering
- Apprentices will also learn about manufacturing processes, quality control, and maintenance, as well as health and safety regulations

- Level 3 Diploma in engineering technician (skills)
- Level 3 Certificate or Diploma in engineering technician (knowledge)

- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
- Training and training location to be confirmed
- To gain a general understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles through a combination of on-the-job training and classroom/workshop-based training in conjunction with The JCB Academy

After this apprenticeship
Excellent prospects for progression within The Hex Group. Progression from Level 3 to Level 4 is a realistic ambition.
Many of our apprentices go on to further their careers in one of our businesses, and those with exceptionally high levels of drive and determination achieve a Level 4 qualification. We’ll even sponsor some of our graduate apprentices to complete a full degree.
