Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Packaging cake orders accurately to the company's quality and presentation standards
- Preparing, labelling and organising customer orders for daily dispatch
- Picking and packing products in line with order requirements
- Carrying out stock checks and helping to replenish packaging and finished goods
- Keeping the packaging and warehouse areas clean, safe and well organised
- Following food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures at all times
- Supporting general warehouse and fulfilment duties as required
- Working as part of a small team to meet daily production deadlines
- Using basic warehouse systems or paperwork to track orders and stock
- Supporting live social media content to promote products and customer engagement
- Taking part in apprenticeship training, reviews and assessments

- Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
- Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
- Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
- Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
- Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.

Training schedule
Training will take place either at the apprentice’s workplace at MailBakes Ltd, or remotely through online learning and virtual sessions with a dedicated Skills Coach. Training will be delivered on a regular basis throughout the apprenticeship, alongside normal working hours.

The apprenticeship will be delivered by Total Training Provision, an experienced training provider offering structured support throughout the programme. Training will include a mix of on-the-job learning, remote sessions, online modules, regular progress reviews and assessment activities, all designed to support the apprentice’s development and successful completion of the course.
