Summary
Survey and map mainly inland waterways, floodplains, reservoirs, docks, beachesm, sea defences and topographic surveys using the latest in survey technology. Process the data into 2D drawings and 3D models, using hydrographic and CAD software.
This is an opportunity to gain qualifications in an interesting and varied profession.

There will be time when the apprentice will work away from home, all expenses will be paid by the company along with a 20% salary addition for all days away.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Prepare the onsite mapping to indicate the areas that require surveying
- Obtain the permissions to enter the land to be surveyed
- Establish survey control station to relate the survey to the Ordnance Survey Active Network using GPS Receivers
- Survey the area using a combination of Total Stations, Echo Sounders, GPS Receivers and Drones
- Process the survey data to create 2d CAD drawings, 3d Models and data for input into Hydrographic Software
- Create a survey report

There will be a number of skills and qualifications thatteh company will provide the necessary training to achieve a CSCS card, First Aid, boat handling, and working in and around water.
