We are looking for a motivated Marketing Apprentice to join our team and support our continued growth.

Wage

£14,526.20 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

·       Job Description.

- To research and create commercially effective images and written copy for incorporation within existing and new marketing documents using our in-house publishing design, recording and print equipment.

- To provide commercially effective marketing briefs to marketing document specialist designers and to agree prices with them in conjunction with the Marketing Manager and to co-ordinate and to progress their work until each project is complete.

- To provide instructions to our out-sourced printers and photographers and other marketing material suppliers, agreeing prices in conjunction with the Marketing Manager and progressing their work until each project is complete.

- To identify, control and manage all marketing materials for all product ranges to ensure that we have adequate supplies of all promotional supplies for our own brands and other stocked brands.

- To assist in the ongoing management of the main Blackheath website and affiliate websites.

- Help create, manage and schedule posts across social platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok etc.).

- To upload and manage product sales on behalf of the company on eBay and other auction sites.

- To perform local, regional and national market research to determine market trends, demographic data, customer buying habits and competitor product offers.

- To conduct competitor research and analysis.

- Support with basic graphic design tasks, such as image editing and layout creation.

- Support the creation of case studies, customer stories, and project imagery.

- To identify ideal marketing channels for optimal customer engagement.

- To develop promotional materials and marketing plans for traditional and digital advertising channels.

- To collaborate with the Marketing Manager and leadership team to identify more effective branding ideas and develop innovative promotional materials for optimal customer engagement.

- To attend product training sessions.

- To liaise well with supplier marketing departments.

- To liaise well with other members of staff and departments.

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.
  • Measure and evaluate campaign delivery to identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data analysis tools to record, interpret and analyse customer or campaign data.

Training schedule

As a marketing apprentice, you will attend a weekly online lesson to work towards your apprenticeship standard.

You will be allocated with an assessor who will visit you within the workplace, once every 6-8 weeks.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade C/4)
  • Maths (grade C/4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
