Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As a warehouse apprentice you will need to be capable of accurate picking, checking and processing of pharmaceutical drugs, in addition to stock maintenance and achieving order turn around targets. Duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Accurately picking, checking and processing orders for dispatch
- Handover processed goods to courier drivers
- Ensuring processed orders are dispatched according to temperature disciplines
- Maintain cleanliness and integrity of the warehouse areas at all times
- Raise any incidents, suggestions, quality related matters or concerns to your manager
- Perform routine and spot checks on inventory
- Keep accurate records at all times
- Ensure warehouse stock is palletised, and nothing is on the floor
- Handling and receipting incoming goods
- Checking deliveries for damaged or missing items
- Willing to learn company policies and procedures

- Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
- Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
- Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
- Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
- Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
- Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
- Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
- support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
- Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
- Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
- Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
- Carry out and record learning and development activities.

Training schedule
- The apprentice will undergo a full company induction and training programme
- The training and apprenticeship will take part at the Pallion warehouse
- On completion of the apprenticeship, you will gain a Supply Chain and Warehouse Level 2 qualification
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- English (grade 2-9)
- Maths (grade 2-9)
