Heart of Worcestershire College is seeking a confident, motivated, and dynamic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Finance / Accounts Assistant. The successful candidate will develop essential skills in financial administration, data processing, and account management, all while receiving expert guidance and support.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Examine and reconcile data to identify and correct errors
- Communicate with a range of stakeholders using the correct methods and technical terms where appropriate
- Use relevant Office and accounting software packages to input and manage date accurately
- Organise / manage their workload
- Work closely as a team to offer support and help to peers when needed
- Work towards the full range of knowledge, skills and behaviours within the Level 2 Accounts / Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Standard

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Training schedule
Mandatory weekly day release to HoW College, Bromsgrove campus along with work based training and support from a Learning Skills Devleopment Officer (LSDO).

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4 or above)
- Maths (grade 4 or above)

Other requirements
The office is in Redditch so please make sure you can get there independently for work each day and to college in Bromsgrove for day release before applying.

After this apprenticeship
On successful completion of Level 2 AAT the right apprentice may be offered the chance to progress to Level 3 and then Level 4 AAT.
