Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
The apprentice will undertake a range of hands on skills to understand of the full on site construction spectrum.
From labouring works, to applying maths in a QS role - quantifying the materials required, or cost checks on invoices against a purchase order.
Admin both on site and within the main office.
Assisting with the planning of works in accordance with statutory requirements for example carrying out site inductions.
Be involved with the preparation of, and monitoring of our internal Construction plans.

Training

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
- Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
- Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
- Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
- Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
- Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
- Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.
Training schedule
Training will be day release at Leeds College of Building.
The apprentice route at Leeds College provides a Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision.

After this apprenticeship
Once qualified, the successful apprentice will be a qualified Site Foreman, able to run and plan his or her own site and ensure all works are carried out in a safe and legal manner, to the right standard, and programme with efficiency and cost benefits to the company.
