£14,526.20 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As an apprentice in our Moulding Department you will be involved in the full manufacturing process, including:

  • Operating a polyurethane moulding machine — from setup to production.
  • Loading mould tools and materials, mixing and pouring polyurethane elastomer.
  • Removing moulded parts, cleaning moulds, de-flashing and preparing parts for quality inspection.
  • Checking products for quality, and making sure they meet customer specifications.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area.

You’ll gain hands-on experience and training in every step, from raw materials to finished product.

Training schedule

  • All training will take place in the workplace, under the supervision or the department mentor.
  • A TDR training officer will support all other activities leading to end point assessment.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English Language or English Literature (grade 4 or above)
  • Maths (grade 4 or above)
