Summary

Join our Digital Marketing Apprenticeship programme and over the course of two years, you’ll complete three 8-month rotations across teams such as TV Products, Broadband, and Digital. Each placement offers a unique perspective on Sky’s marketing landscape, giving you broad exposure and valuable experience across different areas of the business.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • You’ll find out how we attract consumers to Sky with our marketing-leading products and services and how we keep them. Learn about various marketing channels, including social media, digital display, email, direct mail, radio, press and TV. Team up with creative and media agencies to deliver innovative campaigns for our products. Monitor performance. Keep us on time and on budget      
  • Develop digital marketing communications campaigns     
  • Get the gist of multiple digital media channels – mainly display & social advertising, video and native   
  • Partner with our media planning and buying agency to guarantee we’re hitting the highest standards     
  • Find the most effective ways to sell TV bundles and mobile packages to customers online     
  • Drive revenue, evaluate and report on campaign performance   
  • Collaborate with teams across the business and beyond     
  • Make sure new offers and artwork are approved, launch on time within budget and presenting campaign plans and performance updates to your team and stakeholders

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a website content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.
  • Measure and evaluate campaign delivery to identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data analysis tools to record, interpret and analyse customer or campaign data.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

Five GCSE's Including English and Maths (grade A* – C)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

You’ll be above the statutory school leaver age by September 2026. You won’t have completed a qualification or degree in the subject you are applying to.   You’ll have completed any current education by September 2026 and don’t plan to be undertaking any education throughout the duration of the apprenticeship.   You’ll have resided in the UK or Republic of Ireland for three years by September 2026.     If you are on a time limited visa, your visa will not expire at any point during the apprenticeship programme.
