In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience in financial management while working alongside industry experts, developing expertise in accountancy, taxation, and business strategy. As a Finance Apprentice, you’ll learn to analyse complex financial data, provide valuable insights and strategic business advice, partner with key stakeholders and assist organisations in making sustainable financial decisions, audit financial statements, and much more! A career as an accountancy or taxation professional can be diverse and challenging; it’s not just about putting numbers into a spreadsheet. You’ll use technical knowledge, skills and experience to guide organisations and people to make responsible and sustainable financial decisions.
Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll have the chance to rotate across three distinct departments – Accounting, Finance and Tax. This hands-on, immersive experience will give you a 360-degree view of the field, empowering you to develop a diverse skillset and discover your true passion.

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Build trusted and sustainable relationships with individuals and organisations. Consistently support individuals and collaborate to achieve results as part of a team.
- Influence the impact of business decisions on relevant and affected communities based on an appreciation of different organisations and the environments in which they operate.
- Communicate in a clear, articulate and appropriate manner. Adapt communications to suit different situations, individuals or teams.
- Identify ethical dilemmas, understand the implications and behave appropriately. Understand their legal responsibilities, both within the letter and the spirit of the law, as well as be aware of the procedures for reporting concerns over potentially unethical activities.
- Take ownership of allocated projects and effectively manage their own time and the time of others. Demonstrate good project management skills to deliver high quality work within the appropriate timeline. Act as a role model and motivate others to deliver results.
- Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions. Assess a problem from multiple angles to ensure all relevant issues are considered. Gather the appropriate facts and evidence in order to make decisions effectively.
Training schedule
You will gain a vast range of useful experiences and skills whilst working towards the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) certification as well as the Level 7 apprenticeship standard. As a working student, your focus is to complete your studies in your 20% off-the-job time by learning and developing your skills, knowledge and behaviours to work towards successful graduation. Please note: As part of your off-the-job learning, you may be required to travel to a training centre. This location may differ from your primary work base. Candidates should be prepared for occasional travel as part of the apprenticeship programme. You will be set goals by your training provider and manager to support your studies.
You will build your skills over a 42-month period, starting in September. These skills will help you develop personally and professionally. Your apprenticeship will be made up of classroom/virtual-based training to cover knowledge, on-the-job training at your Amazon base location, online learning, as well as mentoring from our experienced team members.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will work alongside the team, supporting with day-to-day tasks, learning how Amazon works and delivers for its customers. As your knowledge and skills increase over the duration of the scheme, you will have opportunities to be part of and lead projects, making a difference for customers.
The on-the-job experience will help you build a portfolio of evidence towards your apprenticeship. You will be given dedicated time to focus on your studies to help you stay on track and work towards successfully completing your qualification(s). Once you have successfully completed your Finance Apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for relevant roles across the business.
