Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Complete 15 months of residential training at the Aircraft Maintenance Academy, Humberside Airport, focussing on theory, practical tasks, and simulated aircraft work
  • Work towards City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 qualifications, covering both avionic and mechanical disciplines
  • Undertake platform placement training to prepare for hands-on vocational experience in the second phase
  • Spend 12 months in vocational training at a BAE Systems or RAF site, contributing to aircraft maintenance or support operations
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the start date due to residential component

GCSE in:

5 GCSE Inc Maths, English & Science or Technical (grade A*-C or 9-4 or equivalent)
