Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Complete 15 months of residential training at the Aircraft Maintenance Academy, Humberside Airport, focussing on theory, practical tasks, and simulated aircraft work
- Work towards City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 qualifications, covering both avionic and mechanical disciplines
- Undertake platform placement training to prepare for hands-on vocational experience in the second phase
- Spend 12 months in vocational training at a BAE Systems or RAF site, contributing to aircraft maintenance or support operations
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the start date due to residential component
