Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As an Apprentice Travel and Tourism Consultant, you'll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Client Account Management: Establish and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring their expectations are managed and exceeded throughout the tour process
  • Itinerary Planning: Ensure all arrangements, including accommodations, transportation, activities, and meals, are well-organized and meet the specified requirements
  • Tour Management: You will be expected to tour manage a minimum of 12 tours per year
  • Creating group bookings for all client travel, managing check ins and distribution of tickets boarding passes etc.
  • Client expectations: Develop comprehensive itineraries and schedules for each tour, considering client preferences and logistical constraints
  • Identify additional tour opportunities within existing and new clients and pass on information to the appropriate salesperson
  • Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the tour, working closely with the tour managers to find appropriate solutions
  • You must be able to work flexibly to suit the needs of the business and clients
  • This will include worldwide travel opportunities

  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

Training schedule

The successful candidate will continue their studies with apprenticeship specialists, RNN Group both remotely and from one of their campuses, giving you the training and support you need to achieve the accompanying qualification.

The Apprentice Standard you will be studying is Customer Service-Level 2.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

Maths & English (grade A*-C/9-4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
