Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Do you love meeting new people? Would you enjoy providing the best customer service to enhance our guests experience? For our front of house operation, we are looking for Food & Beverage Hospitality Team Member Apprentices to serve food and beverages to our customers, clear and clean tables and manage stock levels etc.

You will be given full training and complete a nationally recognised qualification working alongside our experienced team.

If you have experience in Hospitality then that’s great, but it isn’t essential. What is needed is the willingness to learn whilst gaining practical skills and a commitment to achieving your Apprenticeship.

Your duties will include:

  • Serving customers
  • Stocking shelves
  • Cleaning
  • Stock taking and putting away deliveries, reporting low stock levels to management

The ideal candidate should be able to work alone and in a team, use their initiative and be proactive in their approach to work. You'll also need to demonstrate: 

  • Time management skills
  • A can-do and flexible attitude
  • A willingness to learn and develop
  • Communication skills

  • Tailors communication techniques to meet customer needs and build rapport.
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic, and secure working environment.
  • Comply with health and safety legislation, regulations, guidelines and procedures.
  • Follow food safety and allergen legislation and procedures applicable to own role.
  • Use technology and equipment in line with business policy to meet customer needs.
  • Handle transactions and payments securely.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure that the products and services are delivered on time and in line with business needs
  • Deal with or escalate issues that impact service and customer experience, and implement any instructions given by supervisor.
  • Use professional methods of communication that are tailored to different situations, and individual and team needs.
  • Manages own time and workload, prioritising tasks.
  • Maintain and rotate stock according to life cycle and business processes.
  • Ensure equipment and technology faults and maintenance issues are reported promptly.
  • Check customers are satisfied with products and services through questioning and act on feedback in line with business procedures.
  • Keep up to date with changes to products and processes.
  • Uses feedback to improve own performance.
  • Reduces the waste of resources, taking sustainability into account, in line with business expectations.
  • Follows and supports equity, diversity and inclusion legislation and principles.
  • Participate in team briefings, implementing instructions, and offering input or feedback where relevant.

Training schedule

  • You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship
  • As you progress through your apprenticeship your duties and responsibilities will alter as you develop the skills for a successful career in hospitality
  • Training will be a mix of face to face and online learning
  • You will gain a Level 2 Food & Beverage Team Member Apprenticeship Qualification
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English if required.

Requirements

Desirable qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

English and Maths (grade 4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

Contracted Hours are 30 hours per week. You will be on a rota with some split-shifts required (7 am -11 am and 3-7 pm) 5 out of 7 days per week. A driving licence and car would be an advantage due to shift times, as bus timetables don’t always align with working times.
