Summary
We are seeking a committed, professional Teaching Assistant Apprentice to work within the secondary school of our academy. You will provide supervision for students and support for the teaching staff. As part of the role, you will work towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
You will support with the planning, preparation and delivery of lessons for pupils, in conjunction with the class teacher and SENDCO.
You will work with individual pupils as well as groups and whole classes.
Main duties will include:
- Making sure that the pupils you support are able to engage in learning and stay on task during the lesson or activity so they can become independent learners
- Assessing the development, progress and attainment of pupils
- Working independently and under the direction of the line manager to undertake a range of tasks including intervention programmes to support learning e.g. supporting literacy and numeracy work, listening to reading etc.
- Undertaking tasks to support the curriculum and assisting with events organised as part of the curriculum e.g. organising and scheduling pupils' annual review meetings
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
- Set challenging and high expectations which promote the Academy’s Culture of Excellence
- Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievements under the guidance of the class teacher

Training schedule
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, delivered by United Apprenticeships
- The apprentice will complete training on the job from Kettering Buccleuch Academy, including remote CPD sessions (a minimum of 6.5 hours per week during normal working hours) and two national face to face conferences
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade C/4)
- Maths (grade C/4)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
