Summary
St Mary’s CE Primary School is seeking to appoint a teaching assistant level 3 apprenticeship to join our welcoming and high performing primary school. The vacancy is to work across school to meet the needs of our children.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Under the guidance of teachers and support staff the apprentice will be involved in working with children to support the education, personal, social and emotional development of pupils.
- Establish positive relationships to assist in structured learning activities and free play.
- Duties may include, supporting learning activities, assisting in the development of skills that support pupils' learning and supporting children with additional needs.
- The apprentice will assist in pupil supervision and pupil progress and development. This inlcudes supervision at the breakfast club, play times and lunch duties.

- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.

Training schedule
You will join highly effective priamry school where training and professional development is highly valued. Staff wellbeing is a priority and we have a team of mental health first aiders. You will be supported to gain your Teaching Assistant Level 3 qualification which is the stepping stone for a future career. Desirable qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4 or better)
- Maths (grade 4 or better)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

About this employer
We believe that good behaviour is crucial to maintain the positive and caring ethos of the school, and our priority is to engage children in their learning, whilst helping them develop a positive attitude towards one another and the school. Our school caters for around 210 children split into seven classes. We have fantastic facilities both internally and externally and have excellent links with our parish church.
