We have an exciting opportunity for a Higher Apprentice Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in the commercial side of the construction industry to develop knowledge, skills and experience while studying a relevant qualification and receiving guidance from experienced professionals.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for engineering projects, ensuring financial efficiency and accuracy
- Support the measurement and valuation of works on-site and off-site, helping to monitor project progress and control costs

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Health and Safety: Apply health and safety issues to all activities.
- Sustainability: Demonstrate application of the principles of sustainability.
- Construction Technology: Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects
- Contracts: Be able to apply different types of contracts to different situations.
- Procurement: Assist in the selection of and negotiation with specialist contractors for a construction project.
- Cost control: Assist in the measurement and costing of construction works during a project.
- Financial reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, cash flow and cost forecasts for a construction project.
- Administration: Assist in the collection, collation and storage of relevant data and its analysis.
Training schedule
- You'll enrol onto the Level 4 Quantity Surveying Technician Apprenticeship, delivered in partnership with one of our college or training providers
- Over 2 years, you'll work towards a Level 4 Diploma in Quantity Surveying Practice, which provides a strong foundation for progression to a Degree Apprenticeship and professional accreditation with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES)
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4 and above)
- Maths (grade 4 and above)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
