The apprentice will also help maintain a clean and safe environment, complete daily care notes, follow care plans, and work closely with colleagues and families to ensure each person receives high-quality, person-centred support. Training schedule

The apprentice will complete their training both in the workplace and through a recognised training provider. Most learning will take place on the job, where the apprentice will gain practical experience while being supported by experienced staff. In addition, the apprentice will attend training sessions and complete online learning with the training provider.

Training will typically take place one day per week or through scheduled online sessions and workshops, alongside regular supervision and support from the management team. This combination of practical and theoretical learning will help the apprentice develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to successfully complete the apprenticeship.

More training information

Training will be delivered by an approved apprenticeship training provider experienced in delivering health and social care qualifications. Learning will be structured through a combination of workplace assessment, online learning modules, and regular review meetings with an assigned tutor or assessor.

The apprentice will have scheduled progress reviews and one-to-one support sessions to monitor development throughout the programme. Assessments will take place in the workplace to ensure the apprentice is supported in applying their learning in real care settings while receiving ongoing guidance from both the training provider and the workplace supervisor.

Requirements

You do not need to have any specific qualifications or experience to apply for a foundation apprenticeship.

Other requirements

Applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before starting the role. Due to the nature of the work, apprentices must be reliable, compassionate, and comfortable supporting individuals in their own homes and in the community.

The role may involve travelling between different locations, so being willing and able to travel is important. Flexibility to work across different days, including evenings or weekends if required, may also be necessary to meet the needs of the people we support.
