Summary
Kevin McNab and his wife Emma, both Australian event riders, are looking for a new and enthusiastic equine apprentice groom to join their 40-horse event competition yard in Surrey. Along with learning how to complete the everyday yard tasks to extremely high standards, you will also get opportunities to groom at local and stay away shows.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
All the general yard duties include:
- Mucking out/ keeping yard tidy
- Turning horses in and out
- Grooming and tacking up
- Bathing / show prep
- Filling haynets/ water buckets
- Feeding
- Grooming at local and stay away shows

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Your training plan
All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day-to-day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in-person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.

This location is accessible by public transport, but possibly not for the required start time, so please make sure you can get there and back before applying. There is no livery for own horses available here.
About this company
Kevin and Emma McNab are Australian event riders. They have both represented their country on the international stage. In 2018 Emma rode for Australia in The World Equestrian Games. Kevin competed in the individual eventing and team eventing at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, winning a silver medal with the Australian team.
