Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Downlands Equestrian is a busy livery yard and training facility offering DIY livery to full livery. They have fantastic facilities with many visiting professionals.
A great chance to be exposed to a fantastic team of working professionals and learn from and observe many equestrian focussed occupations.
An opportunity to gain experience in the running of the business, social media and marketing along with organising camps, competitions and clinics. Downlands Equestrian are a BHS approved centre, and they will be looking for an individual who takes pride in their work whatever the task may be.
Daily tasks to include, but not be limited to:
- Grooming
- Equine care
- Yard work
Please be aware that this is a non-riding position.

- You will be working towards the level 2 Equine Groom - Non- Riding Apprenticeship
- All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours
- Your day-to-day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training coach

Desirable qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- English (grade 4)
- Maths (grade 4)

Other requirements
There is no accommodation available on site so you must be able to reliably make your way to and from the yard each day. They will be running the shifts on a split shift basis of 8 am - 11 am then 2pm - 5pm.
