Tweenhills Stud Farm is the home of Qatar Racing Stallions and they are looking for a new Equine Groom apprentice on the breeding pathway to join them. With over 200 horses and state-of-the-art facilities, this really is the best place to launch your career in breeding/racing horses.

Wage

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

In this role, you will be responsible for all general yard duties, including (but not limited to);

  • Leading and handling foals, young stock, broodmares and stallions
  • Feeding
  • Mucking out
  • Keeping yard clean/ tidy
  • Assisting with vet and farrier

Your training plan

You will be working towards the Level 2 Equine Groom - Breeding pathway apprenticeship, so please be aware you are aplying for a non-riding position.

All training is provided at the employer's premises, with the employer and supported by Haddon Training. Haddon Training will also support any candidates who need to gain passes in maths and/ or English.

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)

Other requirements

Please note, this yard requires and extremely high level of fitness and strength to be able to handle the horses on their yard. This yard is not accessible by public transport, so please ensure you are able to make your way to the yard reliably each day. There is accommodation available on site if required, but there is no space for you to bring your own horse.
