Summary

Consumer Voice is the UK's first and only platform dedicated to helping consumers access justice by joining group claims and claim compensation from law-breaking businesses. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a purpose-driven startup, while developing your skills in content creation, storytelling, and digital strategy.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Create and publish content for Consumer Voice UK’s website, newsletters, and social media channels
  • Create and optimise existing content for maximum search engine optimisation impact
  • Translate complex consumer issues into accessible and engaging formats - videos, graphics, carousels, short blogs, explainers, and more
  • Support the planning and delivery of national campaigns focused on consumer fairness and protection
  • Support in planning and delivering campaigns around key consumer rights issues
  • Work with subject matter experts to simplify legal and technical topics for public understanding
  • Film, edit, and publish short videos and animations on consumer topics
  • Write engaging and accurate copy tailored to different digital audiences
  • Learn how to manage digital workflows using industry tools and content management systems
  • Monitor trends and feedback to suggest improvements and content ideas

Where you'll work

This is a remote role with occasional in-person collaboration days in Brighton or London.

Training

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

  • Evaluate brand requirements and brand guidelines.
  • Prepare a mood board or other visual aid for the content to be created.
  • Present ideas, pitches and proposals for creative content to be further developed.
  • Storyboard and outline script their ideas for content to be developed.
  • Interpret data, consider its integrity and use it to inform content.
  • Develop accessible written content for different platforms and devices.
  • Apply best practice and inclusive language when creating content.
  • Write and edit copy or scripts for use on different channels and platforms.
  • Create or capture visuals and audio using standard packages and equipment.
  • Source, obtain and prepare media assets for use; using industry standard packages to adapt and edit content.
  • Use industry standard tools and content management systems to organise, structure and label content effectively, methodically and securely enabling efficient search and retrieval.
  • Identify and recommend the platform/s or channel/s to use for the media campaign.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers, establishing and using professional contacts.
  • Engage and respond with audiences through social media, adapting content to respond to evolving circumstances.
  • Monitor user experience to ensure content is focused on maximising engagement.
  • Analyse the differences between audiences using audience segmentation techniques and data.
  • Use lessons learned to evaluate the success of the content and identify areas for improvement for future campaigns.
  • Use continuing professional development planning to support own current and future training and development needs.
  • Operate effectively within the production workflow to meet production timelines.

Your training plan

Content Creator Level 3.

You need to dedicate 6-hours of learning during your working time to your studies. You’ll qualify in 18-months. 

To complete the apprenticeship, you’ll need to pass an End Point Assessment. This includes a project report, a presentation with questions, and a professional discussion based on your portfolio.

More training information

We are working with Cambridge Marketing College as our specialist apprentice training partner. 

The apprenticeship is delivered online, via a blend of online study materials combined with a monthly one-to-one online tutorial. You will also have access to webinars open to apprentices from other companies for peer-to-peer learning.

After this apprenticeship

Successful completion of the Level 3 Content Creator apprenticeship could lead to a permanent role producing digital content, supporting social media strategy, assisting with campaigns, and learning the ropes of analytics, branding and audience engagement.
