Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
- Service and maintain the inhouse fleet of instruments
- Standard instruments
- Custom test hardware
- Troubleshoot problems in the event of mechanical, electrical and software issues of instruments and identify faulty parts which require replacement
- Support Prototype builds and developments
- Attend Training as a part of the apprenticeship program and for personal development.

This is a three-year apprenticeship split between 80% professional work, and 20%. This is a great way to develop a qualification, without incurring any costs to yourself, whilst also gaining valuable work experience with a business using genomics to improve human health around the world!
