Summary

P J Fenning are distributors of high-quality durable systems for all livestock including, feeders, drinkers, silo’s, nest boxes etc. mainly for the poultry, pig and dairy industry, across the South East of the country. They are currently looking for a Service and Installation Engineer apprentice to join their team.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Main Duties:

  • Whilst shadowing a senior engineer, you will learn and assist with the installation and maintenance of equipment on site, catering for all livestock. Some assembly work of equipment will be needed at our stores. You will be part of our small team 4 engineers, all of whom have been with the company for many years
  • Most of our work is carried out on site i.e. farms. Can be livestock present, so bio security must be adhered to as requested by customers. And respect for the surroundings
  • You will have the opportunity to learn a variety of skills like using general hand tools, grinding, welding, basic electrics. Learn problem solving

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • Maths and English (grade 5)

Other requirements

Some outside work can make for sometimes ‘challenging’ working conditions. We work to get the job done not necessarily to the clock. We sometimes have to work to tight deadlines. Some paperwork is necessary to log jobs i.e. time and materials used, completing timesheets on a weekly basis. This must be accurate, legible and handed into the offic
