    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

This vacancy is for the role of Apprentice Office Assistant. The role is central to the effective management and operation of the business and the candidate will have a detailed involvement of client care and management of client files.

Arcadian Law is a fairly newly established business and is showing good signs of growth.

A team player is needed who wants to stay long term and potentially develop into a more legal type position when the apprenticeship is complete.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Opening and closing office
  • Taking calls, organising appointments & diary management
  • Becoming familiar with Arcadian Law's file management system and making sure files are maintained at compliant standards
  • Assisting fee earners with their files, including preparation of bundles
  • Holding fee earners to account for time-sheets

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour (From October 1st 2016 this will be increasing by 3% to £3.40 per hour). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
