As a member of the kitchen team the successful candidate will learn all aspects of working within a busy kitchen under the supervision of the head chef.

You will be required to cook and prepare as per company requirements while maintaining high standards of cleanliness in all of the areas of the kitchen. You will be trained in cooking, stock management, and other aspects of running a complex kitchen in a challenging environment.

Other duties will include:

  • Supporting the existing chefs in their current roles.
  • Assisting in the preparation and cooking of menu dishes and specials.
  • Understanding stock control & stock rotation.
  • Complying with & understanding Health & Safety requirements.
  • Kitchen hygiene & maintenance.
  • Communicating with & supporting colleagues in their roles within the business.

The successful candidate will have a genuine passion to become a chef and will want to grow and learn all aspects of the industry.

Qualifications required

Previous cooking experience or qualifications required.
GSCE Grade A- C in English and Maths (or equivalent) are desirable. You will take a Maths and English Assessment prior to selection.

Weekly wage at start:  £135 for the first 6 months - £150 after 6 months
Working Week:  30 hours per week, 5 Days per week (including weekends)
Mix of straight and split shifts
Hours available:
9am-3pm  - 6pm-11pm

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour (From October 1st 2016 this will be increasing by 3% to £3.40 per hour). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
