If you are aged 16 – 18, have 5 GCSE’s at grades A*- C or equivalent (including English Language and Maths), and would love to work in IT, then you can apply for an apprenticeship.

Here is an exciting new opportunity in Morley, Leeds for a technical support Apprentice to join their team.

They are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join their team in a technical support role. You will be a first point of contact for customers and also part of the escalation path from other support members. Primarily handling client technical issues via tickets, telephone and live chat, working with customers on provision of services, your desire to help, and go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction, is essential.

As this role is focused on customer communications and troubleshooting, strong written and spoken English is essential. You should also have good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and apply logical processes.

Duties and Responsibilities   

 

  • Some knowledge of Linux-based & or Microsoft operating systems
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong troubleshooting ability
  • A strong desire and ability to learn and develop
Candidates must have: 
  • Practical experience and understanding of computer/server hardware
  • Experience of working with hosting tools such as cPanel/WHM.
  • Experience in customer communications
  • UK Driving license

Some experience in any of the following would be desirable! :

  • Understanding of HTTP, DNS, Internet communications and issues surrounding website operation
  • Knowledge of common Internet software, such as IIS, Apache, MySQL, PHP
  • Practical experience and understanding of computer/server hardware
  • Experience of working with hosting tools such as cPanel/WHM.
  • Experience in customer communications
  • UK Driving license


Any examples of current work e.g. a portfolio would be beneficial but not essential.

Personal qualities

The ideal candidate with have an interest in all things technical and will be looking to further their career in Technical Support. A passion for IT is essential!

The IT Apprenticeship programme gives people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.


Learners will receive 9 weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

Level 3 Diploma in Professional
