A Hairdressing Apprentice is required for a busy and friendly salon in Chobham to carry out a number of duties from welcoming customers to assisting stylists and reception duties.

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
Duties to include:
- Keeping the salon clean and tidy
- Reception Duties
- Welcoming Customers
- Supporting Stylists
- Full training that will cover all aspects of hairdressing including, shampooing, cutting, treatments assisting stylists with colour application
Requirements and prospects
- The ideal candidate must be self motivated, confident, and passionate about the industry and should have good communication skills and able to offer exceptional customer service.
- For the right person, there is an opportunity to become a Junior Stylist with an increased wage.

Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 is a priority and fully funded by the government. Training for apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded with employers expected to make a part or full contribution.
From the 1 October 2015 a National Minimum Wage for apprentices aged 16-18 and those aged 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship is £3.30 per hour. The new NMW applies to time working plus time spent training as this is also part of the Apprenticeship. Anyone not covered by the age category above will be entitled to the NMW appropriate to their age.
