Summary

An exciting opportunity to work directly alongside the CEO of a growing charity while completing a Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship. You’ll gain hands on experience in finance, business management, project delivery, funding and executive support, with real responsibility from day one.

£13,312 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Support the CEO with the day-to-day management and development of CDC Group.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditure, income and funding to help ensure projects remain financially on track.
  • Maintain financial records, process invoices and update budget and expenditure trackers.
  • Assist with financial forecasting, project costing and preparing management information.
  • Coordinate projects, monitor deadlines, update project plans and follow up outstanding actions.
  • Support the management of grants, including monitoring expenditure, outcomes, evidence and reporting deadlines.
    Assist with funding applications, project budgets and the development of new services.
  • Manage the CEO’s diary, meetings, appointments and priorities.
    Prepare reports, correspondence, meeting papers, presentations and other professional documents.
  • Attend meetings, take minutes and ensure agreed actions are recorded and progressed.
  • Liaise with staff, Trustees, funders, suppliers, local authorities and partner organisations.
  • Support procurement by obtaining quotations, comparing costs and helping assess value for money.
  • Maintain accurate organisational, project and governance records.
    Help review business processes and develop systems that improve efficiency across CDC Group.
  • Work across CDC’s Cosy Hub and Community Hub, with travel to activity and project locations when required.

  • Use digital tools and software to meet project objectives for example research, collaboration, presentations, and resolution of problems.
  • Provide underpinning data to support the written submission through the governance process.
  • Work within the approved project budget.
  • Ensure that integrated schedules support critical path analysis, interface management, resource forecasting and risk management.
  • Apply relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and ethical guidance where appropriate to their work.
  • Use data to inform decisions on actions to take to mitigate risks on project.
  • Use configuration management and change control to schedule and maintain projects.
  • Manages resources through the project lifecycle.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

Desirable qualifications

A Level in:

Business, Business Administration, Finance, Accoun (grade Pass)

AAT Level 2 or Level 3 Accounting qualification in:

AAT Level 2 or Level 3 Accounting qualification (grade pass)

L2 in:

Youth work (grade pass)

Other requirements

Applicants must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and appropriate pre-employment checks. The role is predominantly site-based across CDC Group locations, with travel to activity and project locations when required. Applicants must be comfortable handling confidential, financial and sensitive information and working flexibly to meet organisational needs.
