What you will do in your working day

Liaise with hauliers on a daily basis to ensure that deliveries of containers that are arriving into multiple UK ports are arranged for delivery as per the customers requirements.



·       Communicating with hauliers & customers based up and down the Uk.

·       Creating & providing accurate delivery notes to hauliers.

·       Communicating with multiple shipping lines ensuring that releases of containers are in place.

·       Ensuring daily checks on vessel ETA’s, Container discharge times & container releases are completed multiple times a day.

·       Ensuring all communications with hauliers, customers & shipping lines are filed correctly.

·       Using excel spreadsheets for multiple reasons. E.g. we have a spreadsheet which shows each hauliers costs for delivery Ex each port & another which we use to monitor and ensure that we are paying some of the shipping lines correctly to obtain necessary releases.

·       Filing completed jobs away once the files are finished with.

On the job training delivered by the employer
Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3
Allocation of an Apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training
Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop
Identify, track and support 6 hours off the job training activities
Quarterly formal progress review meetings, identifying learning achievements and next steps

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice who is keen to learn and upon successfully completing the Apprenticeship we will be looking to make the position permanent.

Things to consider

We are in the process of moving office location from Wickford to East Hanningfield (final move date 1st week September 2024). The applicant should consider their ability to get to/from this location as public transport options are limited.
