What you will do in your working day

  • Provide support in pre-testing and setting up for practical experiments in the classroom. Preparing and disposing of special compounds, specimens, electronic circuits, reagents, microbiological materials
  • Be aware of and abide by the schools’ health and safety procedures and policies. To undertake any other relevant duties as may reasonably be requested by the Senior Science Technician or Senior Leadership Team
  • Although the core duties are listed above, a flexible approach to working is essential. The post holder may be required to adapt the above duties to take account changes to working practices
  • The post holder must be a strong team player and be able to establish effective working relationships with other team members, students, parents, leaders, support staff and outside agencies

The training you will be getting

  • You will qualify as a Level 3 Laboratory Assistant 
  • You will be released one day a week to study 
  • Training will be provided by New City College and you will be expected to attend their EppingForest Campus on your day release
