What you will do in your working day

• Safeguarding children’s well-being
• Follow school policies for behaviour management
• Supporting individuals and small groups in the classroom during lessons under the guidance of the class teachers
• Small group support outside of the classroom with SEND pupils following intervention programmes or under the guidance of the teacher
• Marking work set and feedback to class teachers about learning/behaviour during individual/group sessions including assessment of support plan targets
• Supervise pupils outside of lesson time
• Preparing/photocopying work for lessons
• Contribute to lesson planning with the class teacher
• Putting up displays
• Taking attendance and dinner registers using online systems

The training you will be getting

An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. You will be
expected to work towards the Level 3 Teaching Assistant, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group

As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English
Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional
certificates of recognition for these qualifications

About the employer

Bradwell Junior School is situated in the village of Bradwell, in the Hope Valley in the north of Derbyshire. It welcomes 50 pupils through its doors, from Year 3 to Year 6. The historic school building includes two classrooms with separate areas for small group work. Pupils benefit from a well-equipped food technology room, and regular access to community facilities such as the Bradwell Community Library and War Memorial Hall.
