What you will do in your working day

This will involve working:

In alternative provision,

Work with individuals or small groups of children under the direction of teaching staff.

Work with students between the ages of 5 and 11.

Support pupils with activities which support English and maths skills

Participate in evaluation of learning activities with the teacher, providing feedback to the teacher on pupil progress and behaviour.

The training you will be getting

  • Apprentices will undertake the Level 3 Teaching Assistant standard
  • This includes 1 day per week day release at Chelmsford College
  • Apprenticeship starts 1st September 2024, college day release will commence 3rd week of September.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Fully qualified Teaching Assistant
  • Apprentices could progress to degree and qualified teacher status whilst still working at the school
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant
