What you will do in your working day

As a Technical Support apprentice you will;

  • Learn to work within the AS9100, ISO9001 standards
  • Learn to be able to interpret engineering drawings and inspect to those requirements
  • Programming and use of coordinate measuring machines (QCT, Inspect 3D software)
  • Use of general measuring equipment including micrometres, surface testers and DTI’s
  • Learn to Maintain route card completion
  • Work within a team of quality related personnel
  • Operate & communicate within all functions and levels within the business
  • Must have a good eye for detail

The training you will be getting

  • You will be required to attend Dudley College 2 days per week in Year 1, and 1 day per week thereafter
  • Level 3 Engineering Technician - Tech Support standard which includes Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence), Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Technical Support and Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge), upon successful completion of your apprenticeship
  • You will receive further mentoring and development in work
