Entry Requirements - 5 GCSEs at grades 4 – 9 (GCSE C or above) including English Language. We require candidates to have at least a grade B or equivalent in maths GCSE. Equivalent qualifications are accepted and 2 A levels at C grade or above, one in a STEM or equivalent.

Monday to Friday typically falling between 8am-5pm. Once qualified, there will also be a requirement to contribute to an out of hours callout by joining a formal On Call Framework to support 24x7 service as needed by the business.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

As a Lead Engineering Maintenance Technician, you’ll study for a Level 4 apprenticeship with Stoke College. You will be required to attend the College on a block release, Monday Lunchtime to Friday lunchtime. There will be approximately 10 blocks per year and the programme is 3 years in duration. Covered by BT.

20% of your working hours will be dedicated to studying.

Course contents

For example, job sheets, risk assessments, equipment service records, test results, handover documents and manufacturers' documentation, asset management records, work sheets, checklists, waste environmental records and any legal reporting requirements.

  • Evaluate tasks, projects or resources in the workplace.
  • Communicate with colleagues and stakeholders verbally.

    Other requirements

    You must have a full UK driving licence and be within a 45 minute commute to the office. You will be provided with a work vehicle.
